13th Edition of the Course on Introduction to Robotics in Head & Neck Surgery – A Global Success

On April 1st and 2nd, 2025, we hosted the 13th edition of the course on Introduction to Robotics in Head & Neck Surgery. This year’s program delivered a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals, in-depth training on the da Vinci robotic system, hands-on virtual simulation, step-by-step guidance through surgical techniques, 3D surgical videos, and cadaveric dissections.

This was our most international edition to date, welcoming surgeons from across the globe. We hope you enjoyed your time in Madrid and found the experience both educational and rewarding.

A heartfelt thank you to Abex / Intuitive for making the da Vinci system available—this course would not be possible without your support. We’re also deeply grateful to the Department of Anatomy, Histology, and Neuroscience at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid for hosting us once again in such an outstanding venue.

Special thanks to Technoinnova for providing the surgical mouth-gags, including the FKWO and especially the new LARS 2.0, which we had the opportunity to test.

And last but certainly not least, an enormous thank you to our fantastic residents—Juan Granados, Isabel Fernández Rastrilla, Hernán López-Tello, and Candela Haro—for being absolutely everywhere and making sure everything ran smoothly.

We’re already looking forward to the 14th edition in 2026—stay tuned for the dates!

J Granell, R Gutiérrez. April 15, 2025.
