
Of course. This is a natural expected finding. Do not underestimate the functional sequelae on elderly patients already suffering from a baseline dysphagia. Functional outcomes are better with surgery. For many patients, sequelae from the surgical treatment will be none. This is not possible with radiation therapy, and further worse with chemoradiation.
If feasible, do always choose transoral surgery for HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer. Most of the cases will be TORS-alone.
