Some kind of device to keep the mouth open and to expose the surgical target is a requirement to perform transoral surgery (either robotic or some other kind). The classical blades of the traditional tonsillectomy mouth-gags, with a design to hold the endotracheal tube in the midline will interfere with the working space into the oral cavity. This is a particular problem for TORS in children.
